A New Aero Benchmark
The Wilier Filante SLR ID2 sets a new standard in aerodynamic performance. Extensive testing, including in the Silverstone wind tunnel, revealed a 13.6% reduction in drag over the previous model, outperforming CFD predictions. In the complete bike-rider system, aerodynamic resistance improved by 4.5%, translating to a 1 minute 45 second gain over 70 km at 290 W, and 14.15 W saved at 40 km/h — tangible advantages in any competitive setting. Compared to top-tier WorldTour bikes, the ID2 achieves 2.42% lower average aerodynamic resistance, giving riders measurable speed and efficiency gains.
F-Bar ID2: Aerodynamic Cockpit
Designed with input from Groupama–FDJ athletes, the F-Bar ID2 offers maximum efficiency and comfort. Its Optimized Ergonomic Flare (O.E.F.) creates a natural, tucked riding position while keeping control ergonomics consistent. Hidden clamping hardware improves aerodynamics, aesthetics, and durability, fully compliant with UCI regulations.
Fork: Aerodynamic Precision
Every detail of the fork has been engineered for airflow efficiency. Using NACA airfoils and CFD simulations, Wilier created legs with external airfoils and a flat inner profile, a pronounced crown cone for stiffness, and integrated fins to streamline the disc brake. The thru-axle bushing is fully encased, blending aerodynamics with clean aesthetics.
Rear Triangle: Refined Stability and True Clearance
The rear triangle preserves the Filante family’s visual identity while optimizing performance: inward-angled stays for pedaling efficiency, slightly extended chainstays for better integration with UDH dropouts, and true tyre clearance up to 34 mm, ensuring compatibility with wider gravel and high-performance tyres while improving stability and comfort.
